Our Story
Louise Grant, the founder of Approved Healthcare has been an active volunteer within her community and church since 2009. As she worked with people from different areas of life, she immediately saw an urgent need to help those less fortunate than herself.
With the encouragement and support of her Pastor and others within her church community, Louise and her good friend Joan Lee, a Registered Nurse, started a monthly health clinic on a volunteer basis. They had health professionals from the UFT School of Dentistry share their knowledge by speaking on relevant topics, as well as Public Health and their Mobile Dental Clinic, who provided free dental care for those in need.

Louise and Joan brought in more volunteers such as; Cardiologists, Pharmacists and OB/GYN’s; speakers from Sunnybrook Health Center on men’s prostate health; Psychologists informing the public about the importance of maintaining good mental health; the community health clinics such as Black Creek and Unison provided awareness on the many programs that are available for the public. And it didn’t stop there.
To ensure a higher level of support and awareness for the need to help others within the community, Louise and Joan met with their local MP plus sent letters to the Premiere outlining their concerns for the health of the people in the community. Taking this type of action gained them the support and volunteered help from the Public Health Mobile Dental Clinic.
A new chapter in Louise life has started as she continues to build and grow this Caregiver Placement Agency which she has named “Approved Health Care Services Inc.” dba Approved Healthcare.
“We are all meant to take care of one another” is the inspiring belief of Louise, Joan and the team at Approved Healthcare.

MISSION STATEMENT
Our mission is to serve and enrich the lives of those in need of non-medical health support and services in our local community of Etobicoke, Richmond Hill and North York. The experience, knowledge, and compassion of our carefully selected and professional Personal Support Workers are the foundation of the services we offer.
What we look for in a Caregiver?
Our caregivers are the front line of who we are as a caregiver placement agency. Therefore, it is imperative that we screen everyone on our team to the best of our ability. Besides the learned skills required to become a PSW, we also look for their “soft skills” or “people skills”. We have our own particular process we use to vet our caregivers to ensure they are respectful of others and effective in all aspects of our services.
Matching Our Clients with our Caregivers- We take this process seriously
When we schedule a caregiver to work with our clients, we arrange for the most qualified not only professionally, but just as importantly by personality. This ensures there is a mutual like and respect for each other. We want you to feel happy, safe and secure while in the company of our caregivers.
People skills or soft skills, as some call it, are key to any relationship and so we look to hire caregivers who have compassion, empathy, respect for all people, and a sense of humour is in the mix too.
